The spadroon fits into a somewhat awkward place in the world of swords, being halfway between a smallsword (designed for quick tip manipulations and thrusting) and a saber (intended for large cutting motions). As a result, it doesn't excel at cutting or thrusting specifically, but leaves you with a nice middle ground. The blade is stiffer than the one on the smallsword, and there is a larger handle for saber-style grips.
