I own two of these beautiful Glasgow-hilt Scottish broadswords made by Black Fencer. I've tried different broadswords and sabres in HEMA, I've tried other disciplines in HEMA a lot, but this sword had a role in making me fall in love with Scottish broadsword as something different from early modern swords, and the sword I aspire to eventually be an instructor on.
Most North American tournaments use feder-blade broadswords it seems, and there can be something to be said for that with the limited dedicated wrist protection for basket-hilts, but an actual broad width blade like you have on this sword gives you an advantage at what Charles Roworth refers to as "forcing the blade" of your opponent. Safety precautions (WRIST protection, and careful blade control otherwise) with choppier blades are well advised in HEMA, but the blade contact of such swords is a thing in fencing unto itself, and this sword is the best deal you will get if that's what you want to fence with.
The price is great for the durability, blade flexibility, beautiful work on the basket guard, weight balance, and so forth. I wish I could stock my HEMA school with a dozen of these!
