Fechtbuch Fabian

$89 $108

Have you ever read a manuscript and thought, "Wouldn't it be nice if we had a brand new book written by a modern HEMA fighting expert?"

Fechtbuch Fabian represents a modern take on historical manuscripts written by one of the best HEMA fighters of our generation. Martin Fabian has condensed decades of experience researching, fighting, and winning tournaments into this 472-page book. Gorgeous full-color illustrations by Polish artist Pawel Ponichtera showcase fencing techniques using modern HEMA gear.

This "fechtbuch" (fight book) first defines and explains Fabian's interpretation of fundamental techniques of German longsword fencing, then offers practical examples of techniques and counters based on Fabian's extensive experience. The last section of the book contains heavily annotated translations of previously unavailable material from the Speyer Codex: Siber, anonymous poem, Magister Andreas, Lichtenauer, and Leckuchner, to complete the full German longsword experience.

This book is invaluable for both new HEMA practitioners and veteran fighters alike, and will be a perfect companion to your training for years to come. We cannot recommend Fechtbuch Fabian enough, and hope you enjoy it as much as we do!

Excellent book!

I am an avid consumer of Martin's youtube content, and the way that he carefully and thoughtfully explains concepts with needed context has really helped me to understand the Lichtenauer tradition. Additionally, being able to see video versions of a lot of the important concepts that he discusses (one Langort concept, zwer nachschlags, etc.) has really helped seal in this info. It's been a great read so far, and I will continue to go back to it for more info!
