Great for beginners!

I highly recommend these trainers for starting to learn sidesword. They are light, well balanced, and have a good grip. The one consideration is that they can be pretty floppy when fencing but great for a synthetic trainer

Best synthetic I’ve handled

The sidesword swings smoothly and quickly, almost as nicely as my Castille. The heavy metal guard balances the sword close to the handle as opposed to a synthetic that’s all plastic where the weight is evenly distributed, giving each movement significantly more drive and control. The flex makes it very nice and gives me no qualms about thrusting at my opponent. Overall, probably the best synthetic you’ll find if you want one that feels like the real deal. Highly recommend.
